What is Rotary?

How we serve

Our club exists to provide service to our community. Our members seek to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate by providing service through contribution of our time, resources and encouraging others to assist in our initiatives.

Community Service

Rotarians have put "Service Above Self" for more than a century. Through the Avenue of Community Service, Rotarians give back to the places where we live. We initiate and complete service projects to improve lives in our community, bring people together, and reflect well on Rotary. When Rotary is viewed as a positive force in the community, our membership strengthens and grows.

Vocational Service

Paul Harris (Rotary Founder) - "Each Rotarian is a connecting link between the idealism of Rotary and their trade or profession". Our club encourages the ideal of service in personal, business and community life. We support high ethical standards in business and professions and use our occupations to serve our community.

International Service

We seek to expand Rotary's humanitarian reach around the world. Connecting through Rotary’s avenues of services and aligning with the Rotary Foundation's areas of focus, our club works with our sister clubs to implement projects internationally.

Youth Service

In 1949, the Rotary International Board adopted the slogan “Every Rotarian an Example to Youth” as an expression of commitment to children and youth in each community in which Rotary clubs exist. Serving young people has long been an important part of the Rotary program. Rotary International's Structured Programs for Youth Service are: Interact, Rotaract, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA), and Youth Exchange.
